Pulmonary Rehab

Pulmonary Rehab

Chronic respiratory disease or decreased respiratory function can greatly impact your lifestyle. But with the help of Stillwater Medical’s multidisciplinary pulmonary rehab program and a team of doctors, nurses, and trained rehab specialists, you can begin to manage and likely improve your pulmonary condition.

About Treatment

  • About Pulmonary Rehab

A successful pulmonary rehab program can help you reduce the severity and frequency of pulmonary symptoms, improve oxygen utilization, increase exercise tolerance and participation in everyday activities, and improve your overall quality of life. To get started, you will need a written prescription from your doctor and a recent physician-ordered Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).

Pulmonary function tests, or PFTs, are non-invasive tests that measure how well the lungs work. They include tests that measure lung volume, air flow, response to bronchodilators, and gas exchange between the lungs and the circulation. Pulmonary function testing is often performed to diagnose lung and airway diseases, monitor disease progress, and evaluate response to treatment. PFTs may also be used to check lung function before surgery or other procedures in patients who have lung or heart problems, who are smokers, or who have other health conditions
