Pulmonary Rehab
Chronic respiratory disease or decreased respiratory function can greatly impact your lifestyle. But with the help of Stillwater Medical’s multidisciplinary pulmonary rehab program and a team of doctors, nurses, and trained rehab specialists, you can begin to manage and likely improve your pulmonary condition.
A successful pulmonary rehab program can help you reduce the severity and frequency of pulmonary symptoms, improve oxygen utilization, increase exercise tolerance and participation in everyday activities, and improve your overall quality of life. To get started, you will need a written prescription from your doctor and a recent physician-ordered Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
You may benefit from a pulmonary rehab program if you have any of the following conditions:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including emphysema and chronic bronchitis
- Emphysema
- Chronic Bronchitis
- Bronchiectasis
- Sarcoidosis
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Pulmonary Firbosis
- Interstitial lung disease
- Lung cancel and lung cancer surgery
- Lung volume reduction surgery before and after lung transplantation
Patients with oxygen are encouraged to attend. Talk to your doctor to see if your condition qualifies for pulmonary rehab.
Stillwater Medical’s pulmonary rehab program is conducted on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Most insurance companies recognize the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation and cover these services. In many cases, Stillwater Medical files your insurance for you, as an added benefit.
