Cardiac Rehab is a medically supervised program that focuses on exercise and education to help recover from a heart-related illness.

Your Stillwater Cardiac Rehabilitation team will provide and monitor an individualized treatment plan, including evaluation and education on exercise, nutrition, stress management, and other health-related areas. The professional team members include physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists, registered dietitians, and other healthcare educators.

  • How often do you attend cardiac rehab?

    Participants are encouraged to attend three times a week for an hour at each session. 

  • Who qualifies for cardiac rehab?

    You may qualify for the cardiac rehab program if you have any of the following conditions:

    • Diagnosis of documented acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)
    • Coronary bypass surgery
    • Stable angina pectoris (chest pain)
    • Valve repair or replacement
    • Coronary stenting / Angioplasty
    • Heart or lung transplant
    • Heart failure

    Most insurance companies recognize the benefits of Cardiac Rehab and pay for the services. A written prescription is needed from your physician. Pre-approval is sometimes necessary. Please contact your insurance provider if you have questions about specific coverage. 

  • What certifications does Stillwater Medical cardiac rehab have?

    Stillwater Medical’s Cardiac Rehab is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

  • When is Stillwater cardiac rehab conducted?

    The cardiac rehab program is conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and each session will last approximately one hour.
