We at the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic recognize the importance of providing close-to-home treatment. Nobody should have to decide between receiving high-quality medical care and being part of a caring community; we are dedicated to both. Here in our community, our team of internists provide a comprehensive range of medical treatments.
At our Residency Clinic, physicians and residents work together to offer care as a primary care option to those that are 16 years and older. Patients benefit by having several talented people working on their health and welfare.
Demand for clinicians who specialize in adult primary care is particularly high in Oklahoma and across the nation. The Residency Clinic provides adult patients with cutting-edge care that takes the patient's whole health into account when making diagnoses and treatment decisions. Most insurances are accepted. Patients with a SoonerCare plan that must pick a managed care option cannot be seen in the primary care capacity but can be seen for hospital follow ups or to address problems. Patients under the SoonerCare Healthy Adult Expansion, however, can have the Residency Clinic as their primary care.
Community Partnership
The Residents are part of Stillwater Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program, which welcomed its first class in July 2022. Each Resident who is currently a doctor in training has finished four years of college and four years of medical school. They finish the on-the-job training required to become board certified in internal medicine through their three-year residency. Residents alternate between caring for clinic patients and hospitalized patients in several departments. All the while, they collaborate with skilled medical professionals who possess the same expertise, talent, and compassion.
