Joshua Chitwood, MD

Joshua Chitwood, MD

Dr. Joshua Chitwood was raised in Little Rock, AR and attended Samford University, graduating in 2016. He then went on to the OU-Tulsa School of Community Medicine where he graduated from medical school in 2021 and completed a residency in General Surgery in 2022. While in medical school, Dr. Chitwood started an ultrasound education course to teach non-invasive ultrasound techniques to physician assistants and medical students.

When asked what aspects of his personal background brought him to this current stage in his life, Dr. Chitwood responded, “Art is what I love and I found science then medicine through structure and design. Once I found physiology, I was hooked on medicine. I’m excited to explore Internal Medicine to see how my background can intertwine with my other passions.”

In his spare time, Dr. Chitwood loves to bake and draw, mostly landscapes. After living in the Tulsa area for the last nine years, Dr. Chitwood is excited to join our Stillwater community.
