The Women’s Health Center at Stillwater Medical provides advanced care for newborn babies requiring interventional care without transportation inside our OnCue Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with Level II capabilities. In addition to peace of mind for expecting mothers and those experiencing high-risk pregnancies, our NICU is home to cutting-edge technology and medical support, staffed by a dedicated neonatologist and 24-hour neonatal nurse practitioner coverage. Thanks to the generosity of OnCue, and their gift to name a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Stillwater Medical, fewer families with premature babies will have to be separated from each other.  Our Level II OnCue NICU includes:
  • 10 beds, a C-section procedure room, a lactation room and family spaces 
  • Support for sick or premature babies from 32 weeks or later
  • Breathing and feeding support
  • IV medication
The need for neonatal care in Oklahoma is great. Prematurity is the leading cause of neonatal death and disability. In Oklahoma, nearly 1 in 8 babies are born too early, with 11.9% of births being preterm in 2021, compared to the national average of 10.5%.  Current Level III and IV NICUs provide the highest level of newborn care but are often at maximum capacity. The OnCue NICU enables babies in north-central Oklahoma to stay close to home and receive the specialized care they need. Research shows babies who remain closer to home recover faster, experiencing improved bonding, breastfeeding rates and emotional well-being.

What We Offer

The Women’s Health Center at Stillwater Medical offers:

  • Eight spacious labor and delivery rooms with resort-style furniture, large windows with natural light, and optional wireless fetal monitoring
  • Private bathrooms and showers
  • Nine private postpartum suites with oversized pull-out chair/bed
  • Triage room and services
  • Operating Room conveniently located within the Labor & Delivery Unit for delivery of all scheduled or unscheduled cesarean sections

  • Skin-to-skin contact with your baby immediately after birth

  • Highly skilled and qualified Obstetricians, Gynecologists, and Newborn Physicians
  • Highly experienced, compassionate nurses certified in Adult Cardio-Pulmonary Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation
  • 1:1 nurse to patient ratio while in active labor
  • On-site lactation services and support during and after your stay
  • Newborn and New Mother home visits after discharge from the hospital. This service is by request and available within a 35 mile radius of Stillwater, Oklahoma
  • A variety of childbirth, parenting, newborn care, and breastfeeding classes taught by the exceptionally trained nurses at the Women’s Health Center at Stillwater – available before and after delivery

Stillwater Medical is recognized by Cribs for Kids’ as a National Safe Sleep Hospital. We are committed to infant-safe sleep to reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID), Accidental Suffocation and Strangulation in Bed (ASSB), SIDS, and unsafe sleep injuries.
