About Me
Amar Chandra, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon from Shawnee, Oklahoma. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Oklahoma before completing his podiatric medical education at the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago where he was the recipient of the Philip R. Brachman Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Chandra went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio and served as Chief Resident during his final year. He then went on to complete a year-long fellowship in advanced reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery in Washington at the Washington Orthopaedic Center/Olympia Orthopedics.
Dr. Chandra has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations in a wide range of topics pertaining to the foot and ankle. After practicing in Austin, Texas over the last two years, serving veterans through the VA system, he returned to Oklahoma to care for his home community. His clinical interests include ankle arthroscopy, cartilage and ligament repair, and Achilles tendon surgery. Outside of work, he enjoys pickleball, fishing, and cheering on his Oklahoma Sooners.
