Prasanna Dayan Fernando, MD

Prasanna Dayan Fernando, M.D., MHA

Dr. Fernando’s practice model is one that empowers patients with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their health. He believes in staying current with the latest medical literature and is a strong proponent of evidence-based medicine in guiding best clinical practices. Dr. Fernando is happy to be a part of SMC and recognizes the importance of women’s health in shaping the overall health of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He received his clinical training in obstetrics and gynecology in New York City under the guidance of Drs. Angela Kerr and Michael Cabbad at the Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Dr. Fernando’s clinical interests include the management of pelvic pain, minimally-invasive and robotic surgery, and high-risk obstetrical care. 

W. Ray Ford, MD

W. Ray Ford, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Ford went to medical school at Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, LA and continued his postgraduate training there before returning to Texas for a ten-year private practice.  Before moving, he brought laparoscopic hysterectomy and other advanced minimally invasive gynecologic techniques to his locale in Cleburne, Texas.

First place in Dr. Ford’s life belongs to Christ, and he believes his practice is an extension of healing for those who are hurting or lost.  He does well woman exams and has experience in compounding hormone replacement therapy for the postmenopausal or perimenopausal woman.  He believes in listening to the patient, and feels he continues to learn more about the amazing human body the more he does.  Wanting to join a strong medical staff to share the load in a challenging medical environment of today, he looks to Stillwater and the physicians established here to continue a tradition of excellence. 

Thomas Karns, MD

Thomas Karns, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Karns has been board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1986. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the Payne County Medical Society and the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and has served as Chief of Staff at Stillwater Medical Center. His interests include minimally invasive gynecological surgery, including robotics, infertility, and menopausal issues.

Dr. Karns joined Stillwater Women’s Clinic in 1986 and has had an active, general practice in OB/GYN, delivering over 5,500 babies. He now specializes in gynecology only.

Outside the office, he is an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church [PCA] where he teaches an adult Bible study, and has served the last 20 years on the state board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has volunteered at the Stillwater Community Health Center monthly for the last 15 years.

David Keuchel, DO

David Keuchel, D.O., FACOOG

Dr. Keuchel specializes in surgery and obstetrics & gynecology. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been in practice since 1993. 

Larissa Smith, DO

Larissa Smith, D.O.

Dr. Smith received her medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, running and reading.

Ernest Tako, MD

Ernest Tako, M.D.

Dr. Tako is a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, whose practice model is to empower women with knowledge so they can make informed decisions about their own health care. In addition, he is honored to be a small part of the most amazing story in life, from conception to delivery. Nothing else in his mind is more beautiful than the miracle of life-childbirth.

Dr. Tako is fluent in English, French and Spanish. He bring years of experience in women’s health to Stillwater Women’s Center and has received multiple awards for his dedication to excellence, including the Graduate Fellowship Award from Georgetown University, the Moreau Award for Surgical Excellence, and a Recipient Training Grant by Fogarty International. 

Sarah Trost, APRN

Sarah Trost, APRN, CNM

Sarah has been a part of the Stillwater Women’s Clinic team since October 2013. She sees women of all ages, guiding them through birth control options, menopause, and many other health and life issues. She is also able to see obstetric patients in the clinic in collaboration with the physicians who attend births. Her primary specialty is obstetrics and gynecology, focused on well woman care throughout the lifespan and prenatal patients in the clinic setting.
