As Stillwater Medical Center has developed into a regional medical provider, it’s had to expand and improve facilities to provide new services and meet increasing numbers of patients.

Hospital CEO Denise Webber gave the SMC Board of Trustees an update on current projects Tuesday during their regular monthly meeting.

Renovation of the 4th floor: This project is two weeks out due to issues with ceramic tile and window glazing. It should be completed by the end of September.

Parking lot lighting upgrade: This project is largely complete except for clean up of a few old bases.

Heart and Vascular Institute: This project is under development and expected to be sent out for bids in January. Construction should begin in February.

Cancer Center expansion and renovation: This project is on track for completion Dec. 6.

Surgery expansion and renovation: This project is in the planning stage. Hospital administration is working with the City of Stillwater on ways to slow traffic on Seventh Avenue where it passes through the expanded hospital campus.

Front canopy redesign and new employee parking lot: Only one bid was returned on some of the project scopes. Those will be rebid starting this week.

Flooring replacement for the Emergency Department: This project is 70 percent complete.

Perry Clinic expansion: This $424,000 project remodels an existing building to provide space for up to three physicians. The bid was awarded to Alexander Construction.
