Stillwater Medical is opening its doors to talented healthcare professionals with a series of hiring events designed to connect job seekers with local career opportunities. The hospital hosted its first Walk-In Wednesday of 2025 on March 26, with three upcoming events scheduled for April 2, April 9 and April 16. All events take place from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Honska Conference Room located inside the hospital at 1323 West 6th Ave.

These events provide a unique opportunity for licensed and/or registered clinicians including but not limited to, registered nurses, physical therapists, CT technologists and cath lab technologists. Those attending engage with department managers, tour the facility and interview on-site. Same day offers will be extended to qualified candidates, contingent upon acceptable references, background checks and drug screenings. Sign-on bonus opportunities are available and those interested can learn more at www.stillwater-medical.org/walk-in-wednesdays.

“Our team is looking for compassionate, skilled professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment,” said Joy Haken, human resources recruiter for Stillwater Medical. “We pride ourselves on maintaining a culture of support, innovation and excellence, where every team member plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care.”

As a not-for-profit, public trust health system committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to north-central Oklahoma, Stillwater Medical strives to be responsive to the needs of people in the region and serve those needs in a financially sound manner. Investing in a thriving workforce is vital to this mission.

According to the American Hospital Association, several societal shifts are impacting the future of healthcare. America’s aging population needs increased care. Between 2010 and 2020, the nation saw the largest upsurge in people 65 and older since the 1880s, according to U.S. Census data. All at a time when the U.S. workforce is shrinking. The ratio of the working-to-senior population has decreased from 4-to-1 in 2015 to 3-to-1 today. The need for skilled medical professionals is great.

“At Stillwater Medical, we’re not just hiring employees—we’re investing in the next generation of caregivers who will shape the future of medicine,” said Haken. “Whether you’re just starting or looking to advance, there’s a place for you here to grow, make a difference, and build a fulfilling career.”

Stillwater Medical has been recognized for its commitment to excellence in patient care and workplace culture. The hospital has been named a Modern Healthcare Best Place to Work for 14 consecutive years, reflecting its dedication to fostering a positive and supportive environment for employees. This recognition highlights the center’s emphasis on professional development, employee satisfaction and high-quality healthcare services. Newsweek, one of the nation’s leading magazines, recently ranked Stillwater Medical among the World’s Best Hospitals for the fifth consecutive year, achieving special recognition as the No. 1 hospital in Oklahoma for patient experience in 2025.

“If you want to be treated fairly, and treated like a person and not a number, this is the place to be. It is very family oriented, and the people here are wonderful, in every single department you go in,” said Dee Grimmet, an intensive care registered nurse who’s been at Stillwater Medical for over 20 years. “SMC supports you in achieving a higher education. It’s an overwhelming feeling of gratitude to work for a company that is so caring.”
