Behind every well-functioning hospital are individuals whose steady commitment keeps essential systems running and patient care moving forward. At Stillwater Medical, facilities team members Amanda Casey and Corbin Forman are among those whose work quietly supports the hospital’s mission each day. They describe their roles as grounded in service, compassion, and a shared dedication to creating an environment where patients, families, and staff can feel safe and supported.

Every organization has people whose dedication becomes part of its foundation—people whose commitment, consistency, and genuine care elevate the entire team. At Stillwater Medical, Amanda Casey and Corbin Forman are two individuals who embody this sense of purpose in ways that deeply strengthen the work of the health system. Their “why” runs deeper than daily tasks; it is rooted in compassion, service, and a true belief in the mission of the hospital.

For Casey, the work is personal. She joined Stillwater Medical a little over a year ago following a decade in hydraulic repair and maintenance. When she felt herself outgrowing that path, she looked for something more meaningful, something that connected her skills with helping people. Stillwater Medical felt like the right fit from the start. Not only was she born there, but she also had family working in the hospital.

“Knowing that a well-running system keeps patients safe, or makes a nurse’s job easier, that’s what keeps me going,” Casey said.

She approaches each day with intention, empathy, and the desire to bring comfort and clarity to those around her. According to her coworkers, she has a remarkable ability to create calm, even in demanding moments, simply by showing up with patience and a willingness to understand.

“A strong team is built one conversation, one solution, and one moment of support at a time. I’m proud to be part of a group that shows up for each other every day,” Casey said.

Her motivation drives her interactions with patients and coworkers. She said she believes in people, collaboration, and the importance of being there for one another. Her contribution is not a small piece of the whole; it is a meaningful part of what makes Stillwater Medical feel grounded, connected, and human.

Forman is also a part of that team. For him, working in facilities isn’t just a job; it’s a legacy. Encouraged by his grandfather, who once held the same role, Forman joined Stillwater Medical while saving for college. What was meant to be temporary quickly became meaningful.

“He taught me how important the little things are for a patient,” Forman said. “Keeping the water fountain running in the Cancer Center Garden or getting the massage chairs repaired for chemo patients can be just as important as anything else I do.”

Today, Forman serves as an automation and controls technician as well as a stationary engineer, managing everything from HVAC controls to badge systems, cameras, preventative maintenance, and large-scale construction projects. His work quietly protects the comfort, safety, and daily operations of patients, families, and staff.

Forman’s impact is felt everywhere, from adjusting boiler chemistry to preparing operating rooms, to quick-thinking during crises like the recent Stillwater wildfires, when he created an emergency air-quality plan and stayed through the night to keep the building running.

When asked what drives him, his answer is simple and powerful: “It’s about affecting people’s lives when they need help the most and doing whatever is possible to make sure everyone is comfortable.”

From maintaining building systems and equipment to responding quickly to issues that could disrupt operations, Casey and Foreman represent just two of seventeen facilities maintenance employees who ensure Stillwater Medical is able to provide high-quality care. Facilities maintenance professionals keep daily operations running smoothly, making them a critical—if often unseen—part of any successful organization.
