Why have a fitness assessment?

Your fitness assessment will tell us several important things about your overall health so we can ensure that your program is designed to help you reach your goals safely and for the long term. We can use this information to identify potential health or injury risks, establish a baseline for measuring progress, and identify strengths and weaknesses.

What does a fitness assessment entail?

Your assessment will consist of several different tests, each covering an important part of overall health. These tests will check: resting blood pressure and heart rate, height and weight, body composition, grip strength, upper body strength and endurance, abdominal strength and endurance, flexibility of back, hips and legs, and cardiovascular fitness. Our fitness specialists also use a state-of-the-art bio scan for body composition and analysis.

How should I prepare for my assessment?

Before your assessment, please complete your physicians release form. Your complete health history and wellness profile, and a physician’s release if required. Also wear loose, comfortable clothing, such as exercise shorts, a short sleeve t-shirt, and athletic type shoes. Do NOT eat any food or drink any beverages containing caffeine for six hours prior to testing; drink alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to testing; smoke two hours before testing; exercise vigorously the day of the test.
