See what our surgery patients have to say.

I am very nervous about surgery. After the initial visit with Dr. Pence, her personality put me at ease. Most surgeons and doctors make you feel uncomfortable, but Dr. Pence is more like a family member that you feel comfortable being around. If I ever need another surgery, I hope she is the one in the operating room!

    – Sallie

Dr. Vaughn is a great listener and so easy to talk with.  I felt like we were in this together.  When I called to get an appointment, it was at their busiest time of the year.  I was seen pretty quickly. I very much appreciate that.

    –Rachelle A.

Dr. Vaughn has always made me feel at ease. Dr. Vaughn’s nurses are very friendly and they care about my problem.

    – Sandra M.

Dr Pence is an amazing doctor who takes time to listen and answer your concerns. I only see her once a year as a follow up but she makes me feel like an old friend who she sees regularly. She is warm and compassionate doctor.

FAQs

  • How long will I be in the hospital?

The length of stay varies greatly depending on the type of surgery and your recovery. Your surgeon will go over expectations with you after surgery.

  • What should I expect prior to surgery?

We will conduct a health review prior to surgery, and depending on the results, you may be scheduled for further screenings. This could include blood work, an EKG, x-rays or other tests. You will also meet with one of our team members to discuss anesthesia.

  • How do I obtain x-ray and test results or health reports from my physician?

Your physician’s office can provide you with films, slides or reports, depending upon your need. Just contact their office and provide the required release form. It is helpful to call ahead so files are ready in time for your appointment.

  • What types of surgeries do you perform?

Our surgeons provide a full line of surgical services, including the latest in laparoscopic procedures. Some of the types of surgeries include: gallbladder, breast, skin and soft tissue, colon, gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn), abdominal and endocrine. We also provide tattoo removal and Venefit® varicose vein procedure.

  • What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring your insurance card, along with one form of government-issued I.D. (driver’s license, state I.D. card, passport, military I.D., etc.). It is also helpful to bring complete medical history information, including: test results, ultrasounds, mammograms, x-rays and other clinical information that will help your surgeon fully understand your health history.
