Beginning Monday, February 5, the main entrance, including the driveway area, of Stillwater Medical will be closed for approximately 6 months.

“The closure is the first phase of our canopy and site improvement project,” said Steven Taylor, VP of Support Services.  “These improvements will provide better flow when patients and visitors are unloading at the front door.”

Taylor said the contractor start will start to the process to prepare for the closure by putting up safety fences on Sunday.

“Patients and visitors will need to use the new entrance off Sixth Street near the Emergency Department or the entrance near the new Cancer Center,” said Taylor.

Taylor noted that the west entrance is designated as a right turn in, right turn out only, so visitors will need to plan accordingly when using that entrance and exit.

“The temporary main entry into the hospital will be the medical office building canopy to the east of the main entrance, where the valet service is located,” said Taylor.  “Temporary signage will be put in place to aid in directing patients, family and visitors to the temporary location.”

Taylor said he encourages guest and patients to utilize our free valet parking as well, as parking may be an issue during this phase.
