Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Palliative care is a specialized approach to medical care that aims to improve the quality of life for patients and their families who are facing a serious illness or life-limiting illness. Our professional caregivers and provide palliative care at any stage of the illness, alongside curative treatments. It is not limited to the end of life.

Palliative care focuses on providing relief from symptoms, such as pain, nausea, and shortness of breath, as well as supporting the patient’s emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and their family. Our team strives to treat the patient in their home and stay ahead of symptoms that might otherwise lead to hospitalization.

  • Learn About Our Services

Our team of specialists work collaboratively with our patients’ other physicians to provide continuity of care. Our doctors, nurses and social workers provide:

    • Communication & Support – providing in-depth communication to patients and families, and support regarding goals, concerns, and treatment options.

  • Who can receive palliative care?

Palliative care is for anyone facing a serious illness, such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, and kidney disease. Palliative care is not hospice. While both services focus on improving quality of life, palliative care is available at any stage of a disease, while hospice is for end-stage illness.
