Thoracic Surgery
Thoracic surgery is a highly-specialized discipline dedicated to treating a wide range of conditions in the thorax (chest). The thoracic surgery program at Stillwater Medical expands treatment options for patients, utilizing minimally-invasive procedures, including robotic and video-assisted technology.
G. Darby Pope, MD at Stillwater Surgical Associates leads the thoracic surgery program at Stillwater Medical Center. His experience and interests are focused around minimally invasive approaches (i.e.., VATS, da Vinci robotics, laparoscopy, and navigational bronchoscopy) for the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic oncologic diseases, including lung and esophageal cancer, and also for treating the breadth of benign surgical diseases of the chest. Dr. Pope is board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
