Radiation Therapy Treatment
Radiation therapy uses high energy beams to shrink tumor cells. It can be used to offer relief of cancer symptoms or to help cure. It may be given before surgery to shrink a tumor so that it is easier to remove surgically, or given following surgery so that if there are any remaining cancer cells in the tumor site, they can be eradicated. Radiation therapy can be given alone or in combination with other therapies, such as surgery or chemotherapy.
