Maria Roberson, CRNA
Maria Roberson has been a member of the Stillwater Medical Center (SMC) family since 2018. She is a board-certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). She graduated from Texas Wesleyan University School of Nurse Anesthesia in 2013, and she has been practicing nurse anesthesia in Oklahoma ever since. Prior to graduating with her master’s in nurse anesthesia, Mrs. Roberson worked in Cardiovascular, Trauma, Medical, and Surgical ICUs for several years. Also, she has been a nurse in the US Army Nurse Corp since 2008 and she still serves in the US Army Reserves as a CRNA.
At SMC, Mrs. Roberson specializes in general anesthesia for surgical procedures, regional anesthesia post-operative pain management, spinal and epidural anesthesia for obstetrics, and monitored anesthesia care for medical procedures. She strives to deliver evidenced based, up-to-date care in the field of anesthesia.
“I started down the path of nurse anesthesia when I met a CRNA in Iraq when I deployed with the Army National Guard in 2003. When I mentioned to this Army CRNA that I was planning to become an RN, he witnessed to me about his CRNA career and how CRNAs touched lives with every patient encounter. This was a pivotal point for me. I knew I wanted to be a part of a profession that could save a soldier’s life so he or she could come back home to their family.”
In Maria’s spare time she loves to spend time with her four children, Arianna 17, Xavier 16, Ava 11, Audrey 8, and husband, BJ Roberson. They live in the town of Cushing, OK. In addition to her military service in the Army Reserves, Maria is an active member of the Oklahoma Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Board member of the Saville Center, and Staff Parish Relations Committee member for the First United Methodist Church of Cushing, OK. Her hobbies are cooking and learning new recipes, landscaping, and vacationing with her family.
