Stillwater Medical Center Releases More Details About COVID-19 Patient Current Under Their Care

Last night, Stillwater Medical released information confirming a positive COVID-19 patient under their care. This created many questions and concerns from the community.  

“We want to reiterate that the state department of health will do a contact investigation to determine who is at risk from previous contact with the patient,” said Necia Kimber, Director of Infection Control at Stillwater Medical. 

The hospital released that the patient is a resident of Kay County, has no connection to OSU or public school systems, was exposed by family members who had traveled out of state and that the patient is in good condition.

Kimber stated that Stillwater Medical followed protocol and by quickly identifying the patient as “at risk” the patient was placed on isolation on the day of arrival. Therefore, there is a minimal risk of exposure to others due to isolation precautions taken.
