Julia K. Nelson, M.D.Dr. Julia K. Nelson has been practicing family medicine since 2000. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a Master’s degree in Biomechanics from the University of North Texas. She is licensed with the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. After finishing her residency, Dr. Nelson worked as a Family Medicine Resident Clinical Instructor at Duke University and as an Urgent Care physician. She feels her experiences in those roles along with her past history as a Physical Therapist allow her to bring to the SMC Family Medicine Clinic of Pawnee a broad understanding of what it means to provide health care in a community. While Dr. Nelson has been away for several years, she has always considered Oklahoma home and is excited to moving back to be closer to family. In her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys projects at the farm and trips to the mountains.
