Meet the Cancer Center Providers

 

Scott Cole, MD

Scott Cole, M.D.

Dr. Cole received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After residency, Dr. Cole completed a 3-year fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Bryon Jennings

M. Byron Jennings, M.D.

Dr. Jennings is a native Tulsan who graduated from Jenks High School and received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Oklahoma. He completed medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, followed by residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He then completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.

Akin Ogundipe

Akin Ogundipe, M.D.

Dr. Ogundipe specializes in internal medicine, hematology (blood) and oncology (cancer). He sits on the oncology advisory board of a number of pharmaceutical companies and is a very active participant in oncology focus groups. Subsequent to a residency in New York City, Dr. Ogundipe completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the renowned Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

Nathan Uy

Nathan Uy, M.D.

Dr. Nathan Uy attended medical school at the University of Kansas. He completed his internship at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago and his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Uy is certified by the American Board of Radiology in radiation oncology.

Kevin Weibel

Kevin Weibel, D.O., FACP

Dr. Kevin Weibel attended Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she received her DO. She completed both a one-year internship and a two-year internal medicine residency at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, followed by a three-year combined fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Northwestern University Medical School.

Julie Spears

Julie Spears, APRN, CNS, AOCNS, CCNS, DNP

Julie began working in the oncology setting as a nurse assistant and nurse extern in the oncology/hospice unit at St. John Medical Center in 2000. She later received her bachelor’s degree from Langston University in 2002. After graduating with a Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2010, she began to work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute.  In 2016, Julie earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Oklahoma University with a focused study in survivorship care for cancer patients.
