Stillwater, Okla.– In honor of National Rehabilitation Week, Stillwater Medical Center’s Rehab Center hosted the annual rehab patient reunion on September 21st.
While all rehab graduates are welcome to attend, invitations were sent to patients receiving in-patient therapy in the past year.
“We had a great turnout,” said Cathy Jordan of The Rehab Center. “It is nice to see everyone return and walk onto the unit!”
Approximately 40 rehab graduates attended the reunion. The Rehab Center sees close to 300 patients each year.
Other events to celebrate National Rehabilitation Week included a free workshop held at Lowe’s with instruction on building wheelchair ramps.
“Lowe’s staff member Joe McKee did an excellent job providing materials and instruction,” said Jordan. “In the future, The Rehab Center will look at holding the workshop at Stillwater Medical Center with support of Lowe’s to reach more patient family members and those in the community.”
To show appreciation to The Rehab Center team, Rita Baumgartner, Program Director, prepared a homemade breakfast for The Rehab Center therapists and nursing team.
The Rehab Center at Stillwater Medical Center offers in-patient physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, home evaluations, patient/family education, social work and direct medical supervision.
